Workshop in the Children's Library

Students from the Croatian team participated in the second workshop as part of the project "Let's Learn About the Cultural Heritage of the Homeland, on Monday 12 February, at the Playroom department of the National Library Petar Preradović Bjelovar. We combined the lace and the licitar heart in an interesting way. We were making bookmarkers with the lace and licitar paterns, to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The project "Let's Learn About the Cultural Heritage of the Homeland"

At the beginning of 2018, the European Year of Cultural Heritage our school started a new collaboration with the National Library of Petar Preradović Bjelovar. Pupils eTwinners and their teachers Martina and Danica will participate in this five-month project for the preeschool children and their parents. Collaboration will be realized through a series of workshops, a visit to the Bjelovar City Museum, the Ethnographic Park of Veliko Trojstvo and the exchange of experiences with the City Library of Vinkovci. The aim of this cooperation is to enrich the children's knowledge through the cultural values of the homeland and to learn about the cultural heritage of their own country. At the first workshop, which was held on January 29, we learned about the types of cultural heritage and the Croatian sites which are inscribed on the UNESCO List od Cultural Heritage, created a mind map with children's drawings and played Kahoot Quiz. It was fun for us to work with such small children, but although they are young, they were really interested in all the activities, creative and smart.
